Description: **Job Purpose:** Under general supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant will provide outstanding care in service to patients and physicians. The CMA must be able to assist the Physician with patient flow in a professional and courteous manner at all times. **JOB FUNCTIONS:** **Essential Duties \& Responsibilities** * Obtain, review and document patient medical history and record vital signs in EMR. * Prepare patients for examination and assist the physician during the examination. * Provide patient with accurate information, instruction, and education as it pertains to their medical visits and treatment procedures. * Administer medications as directed by physician. * As directed by physician, process pharmacy requests. * Pre\-certify patients for treatment. * Pull all orders (including telephone) and ensure that there are no patient "open orders". * Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for processing. * Proactively follow up with patient labs (i.e., biopsy, cysto's, u/a, blood work, etc.) and patient records in a timely manner. * Ensure patient is scheduled with correct provider. * Remove stents, sutures, etc. as directed by physician. * Prepare examination roo...
