**Job Responsibilities** ------------------------ Helps ensure projects are properly staffed. Supervises field engineers and technicians to ensure minimum sampling and testing requirements and quality assurance specifications are met. Verifies construction activity is properly documented by field inspectors and engineers. Verifies quantities measured for payment to the contractor are accurate. Assists with survey verification. Monitors assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contract plans and specifications. Ensures all construction\-related right\-of\-way agreements are followed during construction. Assists the DSPE with contract administration. Reviews and processes contractor submittals. Assists the District Special Projects Engineer with project closeout. Meets with contractors concerning construction related issues. As a representative of the SCDOT, helps resolve construction conflicts and ensures the interests of the Department are clearly communicated and protected in the process.
