Description

**3 West** is a 34\-bed general medical\-surgical unit comprised of all private patient rooms. The unit specializes in the care of adult patients requiring pre\- and post\-operative management for general surgical procedures (e.g. urologic surgeries, abdominal surgeries, gynecologic surgeries etc.), as well as those with a wide range of medical conditions. Nurses and nursing assistants work 12\-hour shifts, scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, supporting consistent, team\-based patient care delivery. **Job Description** **Major Responsibilities:** * Uses the nursing process to assess the needs of the patient, plan and implement individualized interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care. Includes the patient and family in planning and implementing care and develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum. * Anticipates and recognizes significant changes in the patient’s condition, status, and need for care.
