Lead the Operations Engineering and Decision Support function by assisting in the program delivery of VDOT's traffic systems management program, with concentration on efficient transportation network to include traffic signal timing and optimization, emergency management (planned and unplanned), special events management, freeway operations and evacuation strategy development. Strategically implement the traffic signal systems program. Supervise and train professional and technical staff. Provide leadership and guidance and assist the District Engineer with overall project management, to include planning, organizing, budget preparation, monitoring and directing work and resources. Coordinate and communicate with contractors. Provide guidance to field staff as needed to meet or exceed overall goals and compliance. **How you will contribute:** * Budget Oversight: Develop, manage and monitor budgets for assigned programs and projects in support of goals and objectives.
