Duties Description Incumbents perform a variety of duties depending on assignment. When assigned to Traffic, Safety and Mobility, the incumbent would perform a variety of duties. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to: * Transportation geometric design including highway design, work zone design \& design of traffic control devices. * Identify and study traffic safety and operational issues in order to develop solutions that are in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and other federal and state standards and practices. * Evaluate mobility concerns and develop recommendations to address them, including applying traffic flow modeling and simulation techniques in the analysis. * Prepare and review plans, specifications and estimates to address the above concerns and ensure adherence to standards. * Design, construction, maintenance, and operation of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) network that integrates with the Joint Transportation Management Center (JTMC). * Responsibilities will include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations. * Additional...
