Medical Assistant Job Description Essential Functions Medical Assistants should have excellent interpersonal abilities sufficient to interact with individuals, families and groups from a variety of social, emotional, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds. Exceptional thinking ability for clinical judgment and professional behavior is also expected. Specific Duties Position responsibilities include: * schedule appointments, tests, and surgeries * greet patients * pre\-certify insurance benefits * obtain medical history and vitals * assist during physical exams * prepare injections * enter patient information in medical record * maintain treatment rooms * lab procedures, and phlebotomy Perform or assist with any duties or operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
