**Definition** -------------- The City of Missouri City, known as the “Show Me City,” is seeking an experienced and detail\-oriented Accounting Manager to lead key accounting, financial reporting, and grant management functions. This position plays an important role in ensuring the City’s financial resources are managed accurately, responsibly, and transparently. The Accounting Manager works closely with the Deputy Finance Director, City departments, auditors, and grant administrators to support sound financial management, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of City resources. **Examples of Work** -------------------- * Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting. * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and support the annual audit and year\-end close. * Review accounting transactions, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. * Monitor revenues, expenditures, encumbrances, and fund balances and identify significant variances or financial trends ...
