Duties Description Duties Description: This position will be filled for the Main Office, Office of Design, within one of 5 bureaus: Design Bureau, Rail Projects Group, Design Mapping and Automation Bureau, Design Quality Assurance Bureau, or the Design Consultant Management Bureau. Design Bureau: Designs moderate and complex projects statewide. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following activities: * Gain and utilize expertise and experience in design of pavements, slopes, drainage systems, water supply, traffic analysis, signals, lighting, etc. * Develop and complete sealed engineering studies and designs for highway, rail, aviation, landscape, and nonmotorized transportation projects * Responsible for direct supervision, training and management of engineers, technicians, landscape architects and analysts * Update portions of the Highway Design Manual and provide related training Design Consultant Management Bureau: Manages design consultants.
