Position: HR / Controller Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) * CPA is a strong advantage, but not always required for a small or mid\-sized hotshot company 5\+ years of accounting experience * 2\-5 years as a controller or senior accounting manager, preferably in transportation or logistics * 10 years \+ in Quickbooks Industry Experience Look for someone who has worked with: * Trucking or transportation companies * Owner\-operators and leased drivers * Fuel tax reporting (IFTA) * Heavy vehicle registration (IRP) is a plus * DOT recordkeeping and compliance support * Factoring companies (if you factor invoices) * Fleet management financial reporting Technical Skills They should be comfortable with: QuickBooks Enterprise a must and or similar accounting software * Payroll systems * Excel (advanced level) * Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as TruckLogics, Axon, McLeod, or similar * Financial dashboards and KPI reporting Responsibilities They Should Be Able to Handle A strong controller should: * Produce accurate monthly financial statements * Manage cash flow and forecasting * Oversee accounts receivable and collections * Manage accounts payable * Super...
