**Description** --------------- **Gloucester County is hiring a detail\-oriented Accountant to manage fiscal controls and governmental accounting in the Finance Department, overseeing accounts payable, capital assets, and insurance programs while conducting complex reconciliations and annual depreciation calculations with independent judgment and initiative.** **Job Highlights** ------------------ **The Gloucester County Accountant:** * Oversees accounts payable workflow, recognizes and relays procedural concerns or potential opportunities for improvement to Accounting Manager; reviews Accounting Technicians’ work and follows up with feedback; assists with unusual or complex problems and questions and determines appropriate solution; facilitates training of new Accounting Technicians. * Oversees the County’s Liability, Volunteer, Public Officials, and Flood Insurance Programs; prepares annual policy renewal; manages and processes all claims; makes building, vehicle and inland marine schedule changes; secures Certificates of Insurance; develops charge back rates, and prepares and distributes allocations to appropriate departments.
