**Position Profile** **Position:** Health Technician\-Temporary Worker **Department/School:** Jenkins Middle School **Reports To:** Principal **Schedule:** Varies by assignment **Status:** Temporary/hourly **FLSA:** Non\-Exempt **Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.** **SUMMARY OF FUNCTION** Performs the day\-to\-day activities of providing student health and health related services according to District policies and procedures under the direction of the building administrator, in consultation with other school personnel. The Health Assistant may carry out tasks delegated by the school nurse, including but not limited to giving medications and administering first aid, monitoring students for safety, assisting with students’ personal care, but does not make decisions that require the judgment of a nurse. Additionally, the Health Assistant may support the communication/behavioral/safety/other health needs of students, as appropriate.
