**Job Description** ------------------- **The Michigan Department of Treasury seeks** a skilled and motivated accounting professional to join the Accounting Services Division. This composite position description outlines duties performed by staff accountants, who support statewide accounting systems, financial reporting, and the year\-end book\-closing process. These roles apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting theories, and their practical application to analyze and resolve accounting issues. The work area is responsible for managing the Department’s central accounting functions, including monitoring expenditures, revenues, and various funds under Treasury’s authority.
