**Definition** -------------- The City of Missouri City, known as the “Show Me City,” is seeking an experienced and detail\-oriented **Staff Accountant** to join its Financial Services Department. This is a mid\-level, professional, full\-time position responsible for supporting the City’s financial operations and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of its financial records. The Staff Accountant is required to have a strong financial accounting background and will be responsible for processing financial transactions, conducting research and analysis, performing account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting and financial reporting functions. The position serves as the departmental lead in areas of accounting and operating activities and requires an independent thinker with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and internal motivation. The Staff Accountant works collaboratively with internal departments, external stakeholders, vendors, auditors, and other governmental entities to ensure financial transactions and accounting activities are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
