**POSITION OVERVIEW** : Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for complex accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** : * Prepares and post journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews * Researches and analysis of assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting * Ensure general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and **GAAP** and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes\-Oxley * Lead accounting initiatives/ projects including: process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes and policy * Mentors less senior staff * Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures * Perform other duties as assigned **QUALIFICATIONS** : * Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other related quantitative discipline is required.
