Description

The Medical Assistant II takes a pro\-active approach utilizing available resources to best serve the patient population. This position provides general front and back\-office administrative support to professional staff and assists providers in the clinical care and treatment of patients. The Medical Assistant II must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care within their scope of practice and according to organizational policies, accrediting, and licensing bodies. This position works in a team model to improve the patient's experience, create better communication and access to care, and support processes that will improve patient satisfaction. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Communicates with all patients and families in person or via telephone, including greeting, identifying self by name and role and retrieving and returning phone calls in a timely manner. * Follows telephone screening guidelines for answering the phone; identifies patient's health problem or concern and directs calls.
