**Overview** ------------ The Rotating Pharmacist is responsible for providing quality pharmaceutical care/services to patients and health care professionals at any ARH or affiliated unit as assigned. **Responsibilities** -------------------- Supervises and performs the functions involved in the inpatient drug distribution program. Supervises and performs the functions involved in the accurate and efficient dispensing of outpatient prescriptions. Supervises and performs the functions involved in the I.V. Admixture Program to include the accurate and efficient preparation and delivery of total parenteral nutrition solutions, chemotherapy, antibiotics, and other medications for intravenous/irrigation therapy. Reviews and verifies medication orders for accuracy and completeness. Monitors patient's drug therapy to detect/prevent drug interactions, contraindications, and other adverse reactions. Makes appropriate interventions to improve patient care. Uses and is proficient in the operation of the pharmacy computer system.
