Overview: **Position Summary****:** Success in this role will perform general Pharmacist duties, including but not limited to: preparing medications, completing final check on filled medications, review and approval on data entry of prescriptions, monitoring patient drug therapies and drug utilization reviews. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Pharmacy. The position location is Roanoke, Virginia. Responsibilities: * Prepares and/or oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients * Makes decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals * Makes outbound or takes inbound telephone calls to assist in various aspects of patient care and/or product distribution to/from practitioners, members, and pharmacies. These calls include, but are not limited to, comprehensive medication reviews, targeted medication reviews, call to practitioners about product awareness, and prior authorizations. * Receive physician prescription orders and evaluate the appropriateness of these orders for dosage, drug choice, potential drug interactions, route of administration and stability * Supervise the filling, receiving, and d...
