Village Engineer / Director of Public Works The Village of Heyworth is seeking a civil Engineer to lead municipal engineering operations and supervise the Building and Zoning Department. Qualified candidates may also be considered for appointment as Director of Public Works, an additional administrative leadership role with a different salary range. Applicants are encouraged to specify whether they have interest in being the Director of Public Works at the time of application. The Engineer, as the lead supervisor of the Building and Zoning Department, will be the direct supervisor of the Building Inspector and Code Compliance Officer as well as prepare and oversee the Building and Zoning Department budget. Although the lead supervisor position of the Building and Zoning Department, the Engineer will serve as a secondary Code Compliance Officer and Zoning Administrative Official. In these capacities, the Engineer will assist the Building Inspector and Code Compliance Officer with building inspections, code compliance, and zoning matters when needed.
