Willis Knighton Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Cardiology Clinic on the WKMC campus. The Medical Assistant will provide nursing care to patients in the physician offices under the supervision of the clinic physician. **The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:** * Assess the health status of patients and collaborate with the nursing staff and physician to establish care procedures. * Contribute to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions * Medication administration for oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal * Assist patients with activities of daily living * Document patient assessment * Communicate pertinent information regarding the patient's condition to other members of the health care team * Provide information to the patient/family regarding the disease process or diagnostic procedures. **QUALIFICATIONS:** * A Louisiana license is a requirement for this position.
