### **Description** The Systems Engineer provides systemwide design deliverables for railroad and transit vehicle movements. This position will be supporting the East San Fernando Valley (ESFV) Light Rail project, working on highly sophisticated project deliverables. The role is responsible for defining system requirements, interfaces and performance criteria to ensure the proper development, integration and implementation of signal, communications and electrification systems while ensuring operational and safety objectives for transit systems.### **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES** **The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:** **System Design*** Develop and manage system\-level integration of transit systems. * Perform block design calculations including safe braking analysis. * Perform traction power return current analysis to ensure broken rail protection. * Train Performance Calculator Operation * Troubleshoot complex system problems and identify root causes / corrective actions * Assist with the preparation and delivery of technical presentations to customers * Define system architectures, functional allocations, and interface requirements to ensure...
