**Job Summary:** The Clinical Nurse\-Perioperative (IRP) is a nurse with at least two years of experience with a minimum of one year experience in a specialty area (e. g. Critical Care and Emergency Care) and is classified as a per diem employee and works less than an average of 24 hours per week. May work in any licensed facility under Loma Linda University Health (LLUH). Submits work schedule availability and preferred department(s) within designated time frames. Functions in a patient\-centered care model of practice and performs the nursing process independently. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in an area of specialty. Embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age\-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care.
