**Homeless Services Specialist** **The Position:** You are an organized individual that wants to help their community while follow policies and procedures. **Purpose:** The purpose of this position is to support the operation of the shelter site and support to people experiencing homelessness who are utilizing the shelter service. **Responsibilities:** Support the operation of the shelter site and to help meet the needs of persons experiencing homelessness who are staying at the shelter. This position is responsible for the tasks involved in operating the shelter site, including: * Setting up and breaking down the shelter site daily, including placement of mats/cots, cleaning of mats/cots, moving and inventorying shelter supplies, etc. * Assisting with the shelter intake processes, including data collection and data entry into the County’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) * Assisting with the coordination of transportation services to and/or from the shelter site. * Serving and distributing food to shelter guests * Supporting the Shelter Site Lead, Shelter Director and relevant partners in shelter guest de\-escalation and other client engagement efforts, as needed. * A...
