Contacts and confers with physicians if there are any questions or irregularities regarding patients’ orders. Fills medication orders and prescriptions for inpatients, outpatients, nursing units and other departments of the hospital as requested; ensures timely delivery of all medications to their proper destination. Reviews orders for intravenous medication admixtures ensuring proper dosage, concentration, compatibilities, appropriate rate of administration and labeling instructions.
