**TREASURER** **CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF MOUNT VERNON** **DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:** An employee in this class is appointed and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Education and reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Business . The employee serves as the statutory Treasurer of the School District and is responsible for safeguarding District funds, maintaining the integrity of treasury operations and ensure the accurate accounting and reporting of cash, investments and other financial activities of the District. The Treasurer acts as the custodian of District monies and is responsible for cash management, banking relationships, investments, debt service administration, account reconciliations, financial reporting and related treasury functions.
