The CNC Programmer / Machinist provides timely support to Machine Shop employees providing programed parts using CAM software. They work collaboratively with Machinist, Engineering, Routing Analyst, and Machine Shop Manager to determine the most cost effective machining methods. Machine parts to print in a safe timely manner using CNC Mill \& Millturn Optimizes tool life and reduces programming and machine run time to maximize output and reduce costs. *The CNC Programmer/Machinist job description is intended to point out major duties and authorities within the position, but it is not limited to these items.* **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** * Oversees the programming of machined parts at optimal cost. + Determines the most efficient process for making parts and creates CNC programs using CAM Software for the Machine Shop. + Selects raw materials, cutting tools, and miscellaneous shop supplies to be ordered by the Purchasing Department for special parts requirements. + Makes recommendations on and assists with the purchase of required machine shop tooling to improve machining efficiencies. + Stays abreast of new cutting tool technologies and implements required programming changes to reduce ...
