Overview: The Chief Administrator serves as the senior administrative and operational leader for the Department of Medicine and is responsible for the overall performance and coordination of the Department’s administrative, clinical, financial, and operational functions across all missions. Working in partnership with the Department Chair and Division Chiefs, Dean’s Office, EVMS Medical Group, physician leaders and physician and institutional leaders, the Chief Administrator translates strategic priorities into operational execution. The Chief Administrator provides leadership and oversight for departmental operations and is accountable for ensuring appropriate administrative infrastructure, leadership, processes, resources, and performance management systems are in place to support the Department’s clinical, education, research and service missions. The position requires a high level of operational engagement and visibility within the Department and its clinical practices.
