**Nature of Work** ------------------ This position performs professional work to assist the Transportation Department in transportation planning, traffic engineering/operations and other related work. Work involves performance of moderately difficult professional and technical work in transportation planning and traffic engineering and operations. In addition, work entails the evaluation, selection, and application of transportation engineering techniques, standards, and procedures; and design of less complex transportation projects. The incumbent will use sound professional and independent judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to professional techniques and principles to recurring problems, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Supervision is received from a higher level administrator, who reviews work through consultation and analysis of reports prepared.
