About the role Vermont Custom Exteriors is hiring a full\-time Lead Carpenter to run our composite deck crews. You'll own each deck build from layout to final walkthrough, lead a small crew and make sure every project meets our quality standard and the customer's expectations. * **Position:** Lead Carpenter, Composite Decks * **Type:** Full\-time, year\-round * **Location:** Vermont job sites * **Reports to:** Operations Manager Key responsibilities * Build new composite and PVC decks from start to finish: layout, footings, framing, decking, railings, stairs and trim. * Install brands such as Trex, TimberTech, Azek and Fiberon to manufacturer specs so warranties stay valid. * Read plans and drawings, and flag any problems before work starts. * Frame to code, including ledger flashing, joist spacing, hidden fasteners and proper gapping for expansion. * Lead and train a crew of 1 to 3 carpenters and helpers. Set daily tasks and keep the job on schedule. * Serve as the main on\-site contact for homeowners.
