Description

Provides clinical and distributive pharmaceutical services to ensure safe, effective, and timely medication therapy for patients. Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with authorized orders and prescriptions. Reviews and evaluates medication orders for appropriateness, validity, and safety; monitors the quality of pharmacy services; and provides medication and drug therapy information to patients and hospital staff. Maintains required pharmacy records and supervises supportive personnel, ensuring accuracy of their work. Performs all duties in accordance with federal and state laws, hospital policies, and under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager. **Shift/Schedule:** Day Shift – Four 10\-hour shifts per week. **EDUCATION:** Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy program. **EXPERIENCE:** Hospital pharmacy experience preferred but not required. **CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:** Must possess a valid and current Mississippi Pharmacist license. **SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:** Must demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
