Basic Purpose of the Job The Medical Assistant is a certified, registered or certification\-eligible professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. This individual provides safe, quality care to these patients in accordance to the standards established by the American Association of Medical Assistants. Minimum Education Certificate from a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program Completion of an associate or college education program in nursing or allied health from a verifiable educational institution Minimum Work Experience Two (2\) years of full\-time experience as a Medical Assistant preferred within the past five (5\) years Required Licenses / Certification BLS certification Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively communicate with all customers (patients, visitors, hospital staff and others). Ability to handle, diffuse and resolve difficult situations, including customer complaints. Team oriented to support GRMC team members as needed.
