GENERAL PURPOSE Provides professional engineering expertise in the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure and capital improvement projects. Assists with development review, manages public works construction projects, coordinates with regional agencies, and provides technical recommendations to City leadership, boards, and commissions. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the supervision of the City Engineer. SUPERVISION EXERCISED Serves as project manager for transportation capital improvement projects and oversees the work of contractors and engineering consultants engaged in the design and construction of public infrastructure improvements. Works directly with and assigns tasks to EITs and engineering technicians. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Serve as project manager on assigned projects; oversee, direct, and review the work of assigned professional and technical project staff; establish design criteria to be used by project staff and/or outside consultants; prepare preliminary and final estimates of work and material requirements; coordinate required advertising for bids. * Implement development application review program including the review of development plans, ...
