**Purpose:** Responsible for general supervision of all Industrial Department activities, with direct responsibility for Sales functions. The Business Manager has final responsibility for department performance and profitability, including hiring/firing, preparing and managing to a budget. **Scope:** The Business Manager is the Sales Manager. The Business Manager directs the daily activities of both Field Sales Reps and Customer Service Reps. This includes developing focused product\-specific and customer\-specific programs, assessing outcomes, coaching sales behaviors, preparing and conducting monthly sales meetings, tertial territory reviews, and annual performance reviews with recommendations for any adjustments to compensation. The Business Manager makes the final decision on special pricing requests and requests for unusual customer accommodations. The Business Manager authorizes resolution of customer claims for defective materials. The Business Manager makes joint sales calls with Field Sales Reps when appropriate.
