SBTDC’s mission is to support economic development in the State of North Carolina by providing assistance in the start\-up, successful operation, and expansion of small businesses and by facilitating technology development and transfer within the state’s small business community. **Primary Purpose of Position** The Procurement Counselor is responsible for expert\-level counseling to small business clients on a variety of business issues, with an emphasis on how to do business with federal, state, and local governments, and documenting/reporting all work activities. Other duties include client acquisition, marketing the organization, and organizing/facilitating seminars. **Summary of Position Responsibilities** The Procurement Counselor provides government procurement assistance to individuals and businesses that are seeking to pursue and successfully fulfill contracting and subcontracting opportunities with Federal agencies, the State of North Carolina, and local governments.
