Medical Assistant *Reports to Office Manager* Background: Cahaba Medical Care Foundation is a community health center organization providing medical, pharmacy, dental, and behavioral health services to diverse underserved communities in Jefferson, Bibb, Perry, and Chilton counties. We are a Level 3 Patient\-Centered Medical Home and Joint Commission accredited organization, committed to increasing integration and coordination of behavioral health and primary care. This is an exciting, fast paced practice with a strong mission and commitment to providing high quality care. Purpose: To assist the providers as well as the other nursing staff and medical assistants in providing efficient and high quality patient care. **Travel may be required from time to time to complete assigned responsibilities.** Principle Responsibilities: * Triage patients and take vital signs * Document all patient care in electronic medical record (EMR) * Complete patient paperwork including prior authorizations, home health paperwork, medical supply paperwork, etc. * Assist provider with: * Performing exams, invasive procedures and minor surgeries * Ordering standard laboratory tests for chronic disease visits...
