**Summary** ----------- The Office of Inspector General (OIG) defines the oversight authority, responsibilities, and guidance regarding activities of the OIG at NSA and conducts oversight of the NSA mission. Within the OIG, the Audit branch performs independent audits and related reviews of Agency programs and operations in accordance with government auditing standards, designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards and to improve the Agency's efficiency and effectiveness.
