**QUALIFICATIONS** * Pharm D required * At least 3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy is desirable. * Must have a current license in the state of Texas. * Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with physicians and various other hospital personnel. * BLS certification preferred. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Educate healthcare professionals and patients on medication as well as compounding and dispensing prescribed medications for patient care. * Performs professional and technical activities associated with distribution of medications, maintenance of drug inventory, patient records and patient financial records. * Supervises technicians for assigned areas. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. * Accepts total responsibility for orders including review, clarification, order entry, accuracy, preparation, follow up and delivery to the correct unit.
