**Nature of Work** ------------------ Incumbents in this classification are responsible for performing supervisory and professional work in the assistance of development and operations of youth and adult recreation programs for the community, including but not limited to, after school programs, summer camps, toddler, teen, adult and senior programs, special interest programming, special event planning and programming for individuals with special needs. Under administrative direction, this responsible and specialized work may also include management and operation of several recreation facilities that may include tennis centers, community centers, and sports fields. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations, administering the programs' budgets, and sustaining a culture of professionalism and respect at all levels. Work also involves providing customer service and creative and innovative planning to maximize participation and adapt programs to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of the community.
