Position Summary Provides consultative services to medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff. Provides prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals. Compounds medications according to professional standards and practices. Position Accountabilities Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Performs traditional distributive duties of a staff pharmacist. Exchanges unit doses drawers, compares MAR to Pharmacy Profile, drawer contents to MAR, and performs concurrent DUE. Monitors drug therapy and suggests alternate or modified drug therapy when appropriate. Acts as a liaison with nursing and medical staff concerning prescriptions, orders, drug and pharmaceutical detail, patient reactions, errors, and complaints.
