**Job Responsibilities** ------------------------ Performs and supervises staff in administrative functions regarding engineering and related correspondence. Ensures that final plans and monthly pay estimates are completed and submitted under the approved SCDOT guidelines. Prepares cost estimates for new projects. Ensures that inspectors maintain up\-to\-date daily work reports and project checklist. Supervises engineering and inspection duties performed by subordinate(s) on roadway and bridge projects in Darlington County and Marlboro County. Monitors all construction activities on projects assigned to the unit to ensure that all specifications, plans, and contracts are adhered to. Ensures that all required samples are obtained and submitted for testing. Resolves problems as they arise regarding roadway and bridge construction. Supervises and manages the Department's resources on road construction projects, resurfacing contracts, and bridge construction assigned to the Darlington County and Marlboro County Construction Unit.
