**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** Enters provider orders into electronic medical record. Ensures that designated work area is clean and stocked with supplies on an ongoing basis. Keeps physician/nurse practitioner and/or Director informed of any needed repairs pertaining to medical equipment/supplies. Assists physician/nurse practitioner in preparing examining room, equipment, and patients for medical examination by taking medical history, taking vital signs, drawing lab specimens and performing other duties when assigned. Administers medication both orally and/or by injection as prescribed by the physician/nurse practitioner while reinforcing proper medication and dosage requirements with the patient and/or patient’s family. Assures patient and provider wait time is kept to a minimum by maintaining a steady flow of patient volume into the designated patient exam rooms. Performs various laboratory tests, including but not limited to urine dipsticks, urine drug screens, and blood draws as requested by the provider.
