Summary Objective: The purpose of this position is to direct the daily operation of the Marion County Prison Camp, including the safe custody, care, accountability, supervision, and work assignment of inmates; supervision of assigned employees; facility operations; and administration of inmate labor programs. The Prison Camp Director is responsible for maintaining an orderly, secure, sanitary, and efficient facility and for ensuring operations comply with applicable County policies, South Carolina law, South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) requirements, and standards applicable to local confinement facilities. This position functions as the on\-site manager of the Prison Camp and works under the general direction of the County Administrator. The position exercises independent judgment in routine operations and promptly reports significant security, safety, personnel, compliance, and operational matters.
