**Overall Job Summary** ----------------------- This role is responsible for the management and resolution of assigned sales and use tax audit/controversy matters including collecting tax audit related information, proactively evaluating tax exposure, developing and implementing audit strategies to defend tax positions and maintaining successful auditor relationships. In addition, this role is responsible identifying gaps in controls and design, leading efforts to determine the root cause, and implementing solutions in order to reduce future audit exposure. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)** -------------------------------------------------- * Manage all facets of assigned sales and use tax audits including evaluating sample methodologies, analyzing and reconciling data, and developing and executing audit defense strategies. * Analyze audit schedules, determine nature of errors, calculate liability estimates, develop audit reserve calculation, present findings and make recommendations to management. * Direct lower level team members in the gathering, analyzing, and organizing the audit support documentation for review by state tax auditors. * Conduct technical resea...
