P R O J E C T E N G I N E E R OVERVIEW: The Project Engineer serves as a key link between preconstruction to active construction, combining the detailed estimating responsibilities of material and labor quantities with emphasis on Project Management/Production support duties. This role is responsible for executing accurate takeoffs, developing budgets for custom plans, change orders, and plan modifications, and maintaining pricing databases to support efficient purchasing and cost control. In addition, the role of Project Engineer provides ongoing support to builders during construction, ensuring smooth execution in the field and serving as a bridge between Operations, Production, Design, and Client Care teams. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge of residential construction, the ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans, and proactive collaboration to deliver homes that meet the Homes by Dickerson standard of craftsmanship and client experience.
