**Nature of Work** ------------------ **\*\*Disclaimer\-this position will be considered classified\-exempt and “at will.”** The Transportation District Administrator 3 in this position will serve as the District 1 Maintenance Engineer/Manager which will serve Kanawha, Putnam, Mason, Boone, and Clay counties. This position, under limited supervision, performs advanced level work administering highway maintenance programs at all levels, including Core Maintenance activities and Snow Removal and Ice Control (SRIC). Advanced supervisory, planning, and budgetary skills are essential to this position. This position will supervise the work of other employees assigned to a district organization, such as maintenance, construction, or traffic. A majority of the work will be out in the field: inspecting roads and bridges, investigating citizen complaints, and attending meetings or conferences as needed. While in the field, the incumbent may be exposed to inclement weather and hazardous working conditions.
