**Description** --------------- Under general supervision, performs complex professional work in the preparation and analysis of the City's operating budget, programs, and services. Collaborates with department leadership to analyze budget requests and operational initiatives; regularly reviews and monitors departmental spending; completes related work as required. **Examples of Duties** ---------------------- * Participates in the preparation of the operating budget by reviewing and analyzing budget requests and collaborating with departments. * Performs analysis of current operating expenditures and estimates of future expenditures for multiple funds and more complex departments. * Assists in preparing long\-range financial projections for a variety of proprietary and special revenue funds, including serving as the lead for maintenance of certain program pro formas. * Develops the methodology to analyze and interpret the impact of service on the community and serves as the lead analyst for conducting complex research and managing projects concerning budget issues. * Gathers operational, financial, and other statistical data and participates in the conduct of research and evaluati...
