**Position Summary** Spudnik Equipment Company is seeking a **Cost Accountant – Manufacturing** with 2–3 years of accounting experience to support financial reporting, inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis. This role works closely with Accounting, Operations, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to improve cost accuracy, explain financial results, and identify opportunities for operational improvement. **Key Responsibilities** * Support month\-end close through journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and review of general ledger activity. * Maintain and analyze standard costs, including material, labor, and manufacturing overhead. * Review bills of material, routings, labor rates, overhead rates, and other cost inputs for accuracy. * Analyze purchase price, material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap, and inventory variances. * Investigate the root cause of variances with Operations, Purchasing, and Manufacturing and clearly communicate significant findings to management. * Review work orders, production costs, and inventory activity for unusual trends or transactions. * Reconcile inventory activity to the gener...
