Newport News, Virginia**Hiring Range** $20\.40 \- $26\.55/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job\-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. **Overview** The certified/registered medical assistant performs a wide range of clinical duties including assisting the physician in providing quality care in a medical office setting. The medical assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge required to provide age appropriate care for the patients served in the practice, and skills to interpret assessment in relation to principles of growth and development over the life span. In addition, the medical assistant must be knowledgeable of health insurance guidelines for preauthorization's and referral processes, and be attentive to scheduling testing and specialist visits within network guidelines. **What you will do** * Performs lab procedures to include compliant use of ABNs and phlebotomy skills (If applicable). Sends specimens to the lab.
