**WHAT YOU’LL DO** As an admissions nurse at VITAS Healthcare, you will be the first face of hospice for patients and families. Your meeting will likely be the first time they have an in\-depth discussion about end\-of\-life care, and your approach will set their expectations for the journey ahead. With this in mind, you will: * Travel to meet with patients and families * Educate patients and families about the benefits of hospice care and the services offered by VITAS * Ask questions and listen with empathy as you learn about each patient’s end\-of\-life needs, wants and beliefs * Use this information to determine if hospice is the right path for the patient * Ensure a comfortable transition for patients who elect to receive hospice care with VITAS Working alongside your team, you will give your best each day in service of our core commitment: Delivering compassionate, personalized care with heartfelt empathy, honoring the wishes of each patient who entrusts VITAS with their end\-of\-life journey. **WHERE YOU’LL WORK** Most admissions nurses work four 10\-hour shifts per week, but your schedule may vary.
