**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and budget monitoring. This position reviews financial transactions for accuracy, assists with year\-end closing and annual audits, and provides financial guidance to district departments and schools. The essential duties of the position include without limitation to the following: * Maintain and oversee the district's general ledger, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified * Prepare and review journal entries, including recurring, adjusting, accrual, and year\-end entries * Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations for all district bank accounts, investigate discrepancies and outstanding items * Assist with reconciling Due To/Due From balances to the City’s records and investigate and resolve differences in a timely manner * Monitor and maintain the district's chart of accounts in accordance with the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA) * Ensure financial transactions are properly coded using applicable UCOA account class...
