Overview: Department: Medical Surgical Shifts Available: Variable Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN) Hours: Variable Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, Texas We are seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse, sometimes referred to as a Med Surge RN. These Registered Nurses (RN) play an important role in our hospital by providing comprehensive care to patients who are recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Med\-surg nurses are considered the backbone of hospital nursing due to the variety and volume of patients they manage. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. Responsibilities: * Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health * Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions * Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status * Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions * Act as a liaison between p...
